Masuknya Islam di Batavia tak lepas dari kisah keberadaan Kampung Arab Pekojan di Kecamatan Tambora, Jakarta Barat. Dalam buku karangan LWC van den Berg, yang berjudul Orang Arab di Nusantara (Jakarta, Komunitas Bambu, 2010), bangsa Arab yang datang ke Tanah Air banyak didominasi dari orang Hadramaut, Yaman Selatan atau bangsa Hadrami. Dalam buku itu, kaum Hadrami yang datang ke Indonesia berasal dari Gujarat, India. Mereka datang untuk berdagang sambil menyebarkan agama Islam. Tjakrabirawa di malam kelam 30 September 1965 malam, tak banyak yang tahu kalau Komandan Batalyon I Kawal Kehormatan Letkol Untung Syamsuri masih mengawal Presiden Soekarno yang berpidato dalam acara Musyawarah Teknisi di Istora Senayan hingga pukul 24.00 WIB. Setelah selesai menjalankan tugasnya, Untung rupanya tak kembali ke mess di Jl Cidurian, Jakarta Pusat. Perwira menengah Resimen Tjakrabirawa itu menuju Lubang Buaya, Jakarta Timur. Basis konsentrasi pasukan G30S. Untung memeriksa pasukannya. Kekuatannya masih jauh dari harapan. Tak ada batalyon lapis baja yang datang dari Jawa Barat.
